Children’s Civil War Day Camp On July 24th and August 6-7th, Appomattox Court House National Historical Park will be hosting its 8th Annual Civil War Day Camp. Children ages 8-14 (only) are invited to attend. The camp will be held from 9 AM to 1 PM each day. Some of the activities in which the children will participate include a recruitment demonstration, drilling with a soldier, camp setup, and Civil War music. Space is limited and restricted to one day only. There is no fee for children, but adults staying must pay the $4 entrance fee. To reserve a space please call 434-352-8987, ext. 34 and leave a message with the date you wish to attend, how many children attending and a phone number. A Park Ranger will return your call ASAP. All participants should wear sturdy walking shoes; bring a bag lunch and an extra bottle of water. Come join the fun this summer and learn a little history too.
