Car
Hundreds of roads cross the A.T., some of which have trailhead parking.

Bus
Direct access by bus is available to several points along the A.T., mostly in the mid-Atlantic and New England states.

Public Transportation
Train service is available at two points on the A.T.: Harpers Ferry, WV (60 miles norhtwest of Washington, DC) and near Pawling, New York (80 miles north of New York City).
